As Tennessee’s largest physician-led healthcare network, Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN) needed a marketplace brand as strong as the network providers it connected. Charged with representing their innovative service and tradition, we created a digital platform that would carry them into the future as well as provide a place for the active collaboration that leads them to offer the best care possible.
We were tasked with positioning VHAN as the future of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the new healthcare economy. We designed every aspect—logo, color palette, icons, and infographics—to to establish instant credibility for this new brand.
The clear navigation with color-coded icons for each of the website sections brings life to an otherwise sterile environment and differentiates the three target audiences.
The web application allows users to search the network for doctor name, specialty, and location, based on a complex integration with the network’s API. Complex, but works great on both desktop and mobile devices.
Our agile workflow was key to quick implementation. Prototyping in-browser was an effective tool to demonstrate ideas and expedite the process as we rolled out the project in phases.
After rolling out the Find A Doctor app, we turned our attention to building more custom applications for the VHAN infrastructure, including a portal for secure file and knowledge transfer and a backend for members-only content.
After the launch, VHAN has grown to 6,100 providers and transformed the way healthcare is delivered across Tennessee.
